Celebration of New Years in "Alpha and Omega"!

At 22:00 in the building of Christian Your Society "Alpha and Omega" we were met with cozy home atmosphere - carpets, sofas, beautiful Christmas tree, and lots of fellowship with good friends. It was a costume party, and the main attribute of each costume were home slippers!

Read on to find out how it all happened. 

After a lot of discussions our group of "Joy bringers" decided that it will be most interesting to meet the coming of 2009 in «Alpha and Omega» in a home environment! This event was announced as "New Year home-style", and everyone was reminded to bring their slippers along.

On the New Year's night the main hall of «Alpha and Omega» turned into a comfortable home, with carpets on the floor, soft sofas around, many people also brought along their favourite soft toys and pillows.

After the congratulatory speech from the president of «Alpha and Omega» Michael Zhovnir (over the Internet) we met the New Year in worship and prayer, with the help of Masha Kanarevskaya, Vova Lukyanchuck and Dennis Davydov.

We listened to a wonderful sermon about plans and expectations, from Vlad Shamaida.

Then we have a feast, which, along with other tasty things, included «Oliviye» salad and tangerins! (huge thanks to Sergei Vivchar and all his team for the treats)

Then our witty hosts (Katya Ivchenko and Vova Lukyanchuck) led a entertainment program, which included contests, jokes, cartoon watching, a draw of fun prizes, and even a drama «Story of a slipper»! In the conclusion, when the morning started, we all watched the first and second movie of «Home alone».

The celebration was a hit! Personally, I really loved the family, fun and cozy atmosphere of the event, and I think everybody else liked it too.

We are really grateful to the group of Joy Bringders (Zhenya Onischenko, Vova and Dima Lukyanchuck, Katya Ivchenko, Masha Kanarevskaya, Vlad Shamaida, Anya Viskovatova), Alexey Vaselyuck for the prize draw, aunt Lyubocka Mukhina, who was on duty that night, all the people who sacrificed their carpets for the event, and to everyone, who participated in preparing the party, and decided to share their New Years night with us!
