Who we are

Christian Youth Society "Alpha & Omega" is an organisation which gladly accepts anyone. It is a place where one can find answers to the important questions, and where one can meet many good friends. Yet the main purpose of the society is to work with the students in the cities it has its offices, with the people, who will be the leaders of the future of our countries - Ukraine, USA, and others. We tell them about love and forgiveness, about hopes and peace, which God wants to give to all people, and which we have experienced in our lives. We believe that it is more important to tell this to the students of today, then talk with directors, ministers and presidents tomorrow.

Christian youth society "Alpha & Omega» was founded in 1991, in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine. It happened after a group of Christian students visited Dnepropetrovk National University. In 2001 the society was registered with the state of Ukraine. Now the small group of 3-5 people grew into the current 300 members of "Alpha & Omega", and this includes students of universities, colleges, high schools and also all those people who are young in their soul.

The life of our youth society includes a lot of events and ministries. Each Sunday from 14:00 till 16:00 there is a worhsip service on Dimitrova Street 19, in Dnepropetrovsk, there are up to 300 people attending these services. Also, there are 15-20 various groups of 8-20 people meeting during the week, for closer fellowship. On these meetings the guys are searching for answers to their important questions, find out, what the Bible says about it, and hear the opinion of their friends. They discuss many topics, sing together, and spend a great and fun time with their friends. There are three contemporary Christian music bands playing in "Alpha & Omega" - "X-Press", "For You" and "Red Letters", also there is a Christian youth theatre group also named "Alpha & Omega".

We actively participate in the social life of our city. With the help and cooperation of the region, city and district officials, as well as local health-care institutions, we organised charity lunches, celebration programs for children and concerts for Christmas and Easter. We try to help the orphan children, handicapped children, as well as children from poor families. During the summer holidays we conduct children camps, were they can rest and spend a good time.

The soccer and volleyball teams of "Alpha & Omega" play in city and national championships, bringing victory on the sports field. Once a month a local channel named "27" broadcasts TV program of "Alpha & Omega", which tells about the life and activities of our society to those who either can't come to us for some reason, or don't yet know about us.

Our purpose and goals

To know and proclaim God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

"And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen." (Mattew 28:18-20)

1. Testify about Jesus Christ and share the good news of His forgiveness and salvation to the students of Dnepropetrovsk, and any other place. "Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity." (1 Timothy 4:12)

2. Testify about Jesus Christ and share the good news of His forgiveness and salvation to children of all ages. "But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven." (Mattew 19:14)

3. Testify about Jesus Christ and share the good news of His forgiveness and salvation to all people. "Who (God) will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time." (1 Тим. 2:4-6)

4. Assist people in their spiritual growth, allowing them to have Christian fellowship through meetings of large group, small groups, and personal contacts. "And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." (Hebrews 10:24-25)
